Since 1978, the Purdue Center for Cancer Research has been a National Cancer Institute-designated basic-research cancer center. Only seven institutions in the United States have earned this title. Being a basic-research center means we don’t treat cancer patients directly. Our work focuses on investigating cancers where they begin — at the cellular level — to investigate the cause of, and cure for, one of the most devastating killers of our time.

The Purdue Center for Cancer Research brings together the best minds at Purdue University to study cancer. Using the combined expertise of scientists from 19 different departments, the Center for Cancer Research promotes discovery into how cancers develop, progress and respond to treatment. Our work leads to the advancement of new medicines, early detection methods, more effective treatments, and more efficient drug delivery.
